Dr Michael Holland has dedicated his entire working life to listening and helping people. As an obstetrician and gynaecologist in the Bega and Eurobodalla Shires for close to two decades and a senior specialist at Moruya and Batemans Bay Hospitals, Michael understands the need for a healthcare system that supports our regional communities.
As part of his role with the Southern Local Health District, Michael worked closely with NSW Health in developing policy and guidelines in relation to obstetric and gynaecological matters. In his spare time, Michael also continues to teach young medical professionals at the Australian National University Medical School as a lecturer.
Michael has been a vocal advocate for improvements to accident & emergency, critical care and perioperative services in the Eurobodalla, as well as for the delivery of a single new level four regional hospital for the region.
Michael has a strong vision for the Bega Electorate, and his priorities are to:
- Enhance our local health and hospital system
- Work to support existing and create new jobs in Bega and the Eurobodalla
- Help house our most vulnerable and help provide more affordable housing
- Secure investments for our roads and local infrastructure projects
- Improve our local schools and TAFE
- Address climate change and protect our environment
Michael was elected as member for Bega at the NSW by-election in February 2022.
‘As your local member, I will work to secure our fair share from the NSW Government.’ – Dr Michael Holland MP
