After 12 years of delays and broken promises by the former Liberal Government, work is finally underway to deliver the $260 million Eurobodalla Regional Hospital (ERH) as a Level 4 health facility for the whole region.

For too long we have not had access to the higher-level of care and world class treatment we deserve.

That is why the Minns Labor Government is working to deliver a new hospital that will have:

• A modernised and enhanced emergency department;
• The first Intensive Care Unit in the Eurobodalla Shire;
• An eight bed Intensive Care/Close Observation Unit;
• Increased capacity for chemotherapy;
• Surgical and operating theatres;
• Expanded medical imaging, including MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging);
• Ambulatory care for community outpatient services;
• Paediatric and maternity services - including inpatient beds;
• Mental health beds for short term admissions; and
• Enhanced education and training facilities.

Only a level 4 Regional Hospital will attract a world class, specialist workforce equipped with the resources our community deserves.

I have fought to ensure that:

• The Batemans Bay Emergency Department will remain open until the ERH is operational;
• We secured a $20 million investment for the Batemans Bay Community
  Health Service including allied health, child women and family services, and primary and mental health care;
• NSW Ambulance will continue to provide efficient transport in the
  Eurobodalla, including frequent transport to Moruya hospital from Batemans Bay for cases that cannot be managed by the Level 2 Batemans Bay Emergency Department; and
• The ERH will also be complemented by the new Medicare Urgent Care Centre located at the existing Batemans Bay Hospital.

I have dedicated over two decades helping people across the Bega and Eurobodalla Shires.

I know that a regional Level 4 Hospital will save lives and allow more people to receive critical care closer to home.
