I recognise the outstanding volunteer service of Mr Zac Willis, Captain of the VRA Rescue NSW Bega Squad, whose dedication to his community and to emergency service delivery is exemplary and deeply valued.

Mr Willis joined VRA Rescue NSW in 2017 and, within two years, was entrusted with the leadership of the Bega Squad. Since then  , he has demonstrated a level of commitment, professionalism, and quiet leadership that reflects the very best of volunteer emergency service in New South Wales.

While he has dedicated countless hours on the frontline supporting his community in times of need, it is equally important to recognise the significant work he undertakes behind the scenes maintaining compliance with State Rescue Board requirements-an often unseen but essential component of keeping rescue capabilities operational and effective. This work requires diligence, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of governance obligations.

Zac represents the squad at Local Emergency Management and Local Rescue Committee meetings, contributing to broader inter-agency coordination and planning.
