Around 400 members of the community gathered in the small seaside town of Bermagui to farewell Paul Morgan, reflecting the deep respect and affection he gathered throughout his life.

Paul and his wife Kerry moved to Bermagui in the 1980s after purchasing the 777 supermarket, where they worked side by side from 7 AM to 7 PM, seven days a week, while raising their two sons.

Despite the demands of small business and family life, Paul was instrumental in establishing a surf lifesaving club in Bermagui—an achievement that has left a lasting legacy.

Serving as President of Bermagui Surf Life Saving Club from 1994 to the end of the 2004–05 season, he played a key role in fundraising efforts that led to the construction of the club’s current clubhouse.

In recognition of his dedication, Paul was named the Club’s first Life Member in 2008 and was also honoured as a Life Member of the Far South Coast Branch.

Paul was a familiar and encouraging presence in the Bermagui community. His generosity, warmth and happy nature will leave an enduring mark.
