Mike and Robyn Kennedy- Broulee Runners

Mike and Robyn Kennedy have been the heart of Broulee Runners for almost 20 years, creating a welcoming weekly event that has become a valued part of community life on the Far South Coast.

Since the first run in February 2007, they have organised and managed the Wednesday afternoon runs along the Broulee shared pathway, supported by a dedicated team of volunteers. Participants can choose their distances, with runners and walkers of all ages and abilities taking part- from competitive athletes and young runners to older residents and parents pushing prams.

The event regularly attracts between 40 and 80 participants, with more than 100 joining during holiday periods. More than just a run, Broulee Runners has fostered friendships, encouraged healthy lifestyles and strengthened community connections for almost two decades.

Now both in their eighties, Mike and Robyn continue to generously volunteer their time each week, ensuring this much-loved community tradition continues to thrive.

On behalf of the Bega electorate, I thank Mike and Robyn Kennedy, and their fellow volunteers, for their outstanding contribution to the Broulee community. Their dedication exemplifies the very best of community service.
