I recognise Ms Margaret Anne Turner OAM, of Long Beach, for her outstanding service to the Batemans Bay community.

Margaret has given many years of service across local organisations that strengthen community life, learning and connection. Her contribution to the University of the Third Age Batemans Bay has been especially significant. Since joining in 2012, she has served as Treasurer, Vice President and, since 2023, President. In 2024, she was made a Life Member.

Margaret has also served the Batemans Bay Orchid and Foliage Society with distinction, including as Treasurer from 2012 to 2017 and as Secretary since 2017. Through that work, she has helped support a valued local group that brings people together through a shared love of gardening, plants and community.

Her service has also extended to the Eurobodalla Senior Computer Users Group, where she served as President and Treasurer, helping older residents build confidence and skills.

Margaret’s Medal of the Order of Australia is a well-deserved honour. It recognises not only the offices she has held, but the time, care and reliability she has brought to each role.
