25 June 2026

I was pleased to attend the opening of the 2026 Fungi Feastival at Narooma Kinema on Friday 12 June.

The 2026 Fungi Feastival is a month-long celebration of all thing's fungi, running from June 12 to July 12, 2026, along the NSW South Coast (from Batemans Bay to Eden).

It features over 90 events, including guided forays, truffle hunts, science workshops, films, and fungi-inspired dining experiences.

Highlights of the 2026 program include:

Truffle Dinners & Tastings

Specialty feasts, such as the classical French cuisine dinner at The River Moruya, showcasing locally grown Gulaga Gold black truffles.

Forays and Workshops with educational events like the Eurobodalla Fungi Foray or iNaturalist workshops designed for citizen scientists and nature lovers.

Craft Beer & Fermentation experiences at venues like the South Coast Tap House which are hosting curated tasting experiences focusing on wild yeast and complex fermented beverages.

Creative Events including immersive activities like the Paint in the Dark workshop, where participants use glow-in-the-dark paint under UV light to create whimsical fluoro fungi.

Congratulations to the Fungi Feastival Association on its hard work in making the fourth annual Fungi Feastival a wonderful success for the local community and our visitors.
