I congratulate the 21 students from Eden Marine High School who are graduating from the Rural Fire Service Secondary School Cadet Program.
Over the past ten weeks, these young people have demonstrated outstanding commitment, learning valuable skills in fire safety, emergency response, teamwork and leadership. Through the program, they have gained a deeper understanding of the vital role volunteer firefighters play in protecting our communities and keeping people safe.
The Far South Coast has a proud tradition of volunteering and community service. It is encouraging to see so many local students embracing these values. The confidence, resilience and practical knowledge developed through this program will serve them well in whatever paths they choose in the future.
I extend my thanks to Eden Marine High School, the Rural Fire Service Far South Coast District, and the volunteers and staff members who dedicated their time to delivering the program and mentoring these students.
Congratulations to each graduate on this significant achievement. Their hard work, enthusiasm and willingness to serve are a credit to themselves, their families, their school and our community. I thank them for their contribution to strengthening the spirit of service in our region.
